 Preparation of Supported Catalysts

  • Preparation of mono- and bi-metallic catalysts supported on oxides by depositio-reduction or reduction-deposition method

Study of the physicochemical mechanisms involved in the preparation and of the parameters that govern the formation of metallic nanoparticles and the composition of bimetallic nanoparticles

  • Modification of the catalytic properties of metallic nanoparticles supported on oxides:

By adding a second oxide to modify the properties of the support
By addition of a second metal and the preparation of bimetallic catalysts.

  • Evolution of the morphology of mono- and bi-metallic nanoparticles under gases, in particular operando during the catalytic reaction
  • Application to catalysis by monometallic gold and bimetallic gold (noble gold-metal, non-noble gold-metal)
  • Oxidation of carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for air pollution control
  • Selective hydrogenation of dienes in the presence of excess alkenes (gas phase) for the purification of alkene cuts intended for polymerization
  • Search for non-noble bimetallic catalysts as a noble metal substitute for selective gas-phase hydrogenation

Main techniques used :
Electron microscopy, infrared and UV-Visible spectroscopies, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XANES, EXAFS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
